Pee Wee (13U) Spring Baseball

Welcome to the homepage for the 2019 Vernon Baseball Association (VBA) 13U Pee Wee Division.

This division is open to all players who were born in 2006 or 2007.

This year we will have one 13U 'AA' team and we anticipate having several Spring 'A' teams. This may change depending upon registration. Our Pee Wee fields are located at Creekside Park. 8101 Kidston Road, Coldstream.

Pee Wee 13U 'AA': The registration for the 'AA' squad finishes up by the end of January. Nathan Lee will be the head coach of this team. 'AA' evaluations may start as early as March in the batting cage and then move to the fields, more information will be sent out as the schedule is finalized. Any players who register for the 'AA' team and do not make it will be refunded the extra fees and moved down to the 'A' teams.

The 'AA' team will play an interlock schedule with Kamloops, Kelowna, West Kelowna and Penticton. Practices will be two or three times during the week, most games will be played on the weekends. Pee Wee 13U 'AA' requires players and their families to be committed to baseball from early April to the second week in August with possible trips down to the lower mainland. The registration fee covers the complete season outside of additional team or tournament fees that will be communicated.

Pee Wee 13U 'A': The registration for 'A' starts at the beginning of February. This baseball season goes from early April to the end of June. The teams are chosen based on skill level to keep them competitive. We will hold evaluations to determine player skill level and team placement, this date will be emailed out to registrants once we have confirmation that the fields are open and ready for use.

The 'A' teams will play mostly against other Vernon teams with the potential of interlocking with Salmon Arm, however we try to include games with organizations outside of Vernon depending on schedules. Players considering playing 13U 'A' should be prepared to play games twice a week and practice at least once. Unfortunately I will not know what days we will be on the field until after registration and the schedules are built. Practices and game days will most likely vary from week to week.

If you are interested in helping coach an 'A' team, please indicate it on your registration and email me directly.

Lastly, it is important that we have parent involvement at both AA & A. Team managers, scorekeepers and field maintenance are required from every team and parents will be expected to help out.
